MARTEC provide measurement and advice where a statutory nuisance or noise abatement notice has been served by a local authority. A noise abatement notice is served under Section 80 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990 [EPA] and can be appealed under The Statutory Nuisance Appeals Regulations. We have a great deal of experience of the Environmental Protection Act and the Statutory Nuisance Appeals Regulations; each case is different, but the general approach is to investigate the extent, nature and cause of the problem, and then to report to the clients honestly what the findings are; there is no point fighting actions that cannot be won, and as experts we have a duty to the Court above and beyond anything else. On some occasions matters can be resolved without the need for Court action, but often it is necessary to attend Court and give expert noise evidence. |
