As Expert Witnesses, MARTEC Consultants make appearances in Court and at Public Enquiries. The Principal of the company, Mel Kenyon MSc BSc MIOA, is a checked expert on the Law Society Register of Expert Witnesses and is also on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses.  He is a corporate member of the Institute of Acoustics and has practised as a noise consultant since 1982, giving expert noise evidence on more than 100 occasions.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's degree in Environmental Acoustics. I am a corporate member of the professional body for noise specialists, the Institute of Acoustics, and have sat on the British Standards Committee dealing with noise in buildings [BS.8233]. My company was also appointed to the British Standards Committee on the assessment of industrial noise [BS.4142].

Martec is member of the Association of Noise Consultants and is on the panel of noise advisers to both the Noise Abatement Society and the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and I have lectured at Liverpool John Moores University on the Diploma of Acoustics course and at Manchester Metropolitan University on their Environmental Health Course.

I have been a noise consultant since 1982 with experience of dealing with problems caused by noise and vibration, with regard to the environment, the work-place and the home. A particular specialism of the firm is the measurement, calculation and assessment of environmental noise affecting rural areas; sources include wind farms, quarries and recreational noise such as clay target shooting, motor bike scrambling and other "noisy" sports.
