The Building Regulations specify that sound insulation testers must be Accredited. Reports issued by non-accredited testers can be rejected by Building Control or NHBC and non-accredited testers cannot issue the necessary certificates. We are fully accredited and cover the UK from our various offices in London, The Midlands and The North. For a competitive quotation for an Accredited Sound Insulation Test, please call: 01524 222000 MARTEC has the instrumentation and capability to conduct both airborne (speech, television etc.) and impact (footfall) tests in accordance with the requirements of Approved Document E of The Building Regulations, i.e. ISO.140 for airborne and impact noise measurements and ISO.717 for rating the measurements and producing the single figure ratings of DnTw+Ctr and L'nTw. Advice is given on remedial works, if required; such as optimum construction of floating floors, dry lining of walls and so on. Reverberation time analysis enables investigation into room acoustics for optimum listening conditions in halls, social clubs, schools and music venues. Recently a new acoustic design standard for schools has been introduced, BB93, and we have undertaken many such assessments. Finally we are accredited with the ANC for Sound Insulation Testing.
